Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress famous for her performance in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Born the only child to Romanian actors Valentin Platareu, Alexandra began her professional career in the show business in the early years of her life. When she turned 16, Alexandra had landed the leading roles in numerous television dramas. Her critically acclaimed role in the film made for television Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including the role of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are the other Oscar nominated films that feature female stars. Alexandra's career has seen her work on a number of important national and international projects.
