John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched a lot of people with his songs. Most of his songs were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr., born Henry John Deutschendorf in Roswell in New Mexico, fell in love with Colorado. He moved to Aspen. Denver's most popular songs about his new home state inspired many visitors to Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says that John Denver is unlike any other performer who has the recognizable image of Colorado. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its the first member in 2011. He has become the personification of Colorado to the people all over. In my journeys, you come across someone on the opposite part of the globe, someone from New Zealand and you say "I'm of Colorado and the first thing out of their mouth is"Oh John Denver! Brown explained. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a brief time in folk-based bands included Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track along with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver saw an early rendition he knew right away the song could be a hit single. The song was performed on stage in Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver released the song a couple of days from now.
